He has just turned 80, and 50 years of his life he had dedicated himself to the concert business that he promoted in Germany like no one else: Fritz Rau is a living legend!
Thus, it is no surprise that in honour of his 80. birthday the Frankfurt opera house “Alte Oper Frankfurt” with its’ 2.500 guests was fully booked. Well-known artists from all decades of Fritz Rau’s professional commitment passed the mike to each other in order to congratulate him.

The POOlgroup as well contributed to the success of this special event by providing the technical equipment and planning for free as birthday present. The bonding between the POOLgroup and Fritz Rau has been and continues to be a very strong one both in professional and private way: Hans-Jürgen „Lauti“ Lautenfeld, today head of Frankfurt POOLproduction, has been over a long time a close and – as Fritz Rau himself comments – indispensable employee of the concert promoter. And also today it is still a precious friendship as Fritz Rau’s visit in 2009 showed. Within the scope of his lecture tour “50 Jahre Backstage” (’50 years backstage’) his stop at POOL had a very family-like character.
