POOLgroup goes Augmented Reality

This picture brings an AR feature for mobile devices. Here is something to discover, if pointing the camera of the smartphone to the picture. Enjoy yourself!

You need a smartphone iOS4 or up, Android v2.1 or up, iPad2 and the application junaio which can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store or from Android Market.

The app junaio works like television – for different information there are different channels. How to find the POOLgroup channel in junaio:

activate the internet connection, preferably Wi-Fi. Open junaio, type „POOLgroup“ in the above search field.

Open the channel „POOLgroup“ in "live view" mode. Point the camera to the picture (distance ca 30-40 cm, first loading of data may take a while depending on internet connection). Experience our channel by slowly moving the camera and by clicking on the virtual 3D objects.

Augmented Reality

Breaking through the limits between the real-world and the virtual-world, AR merges reality and virtuality in real time. A virtual scene (for example virtual images, 3D models, videoclips, animation and sound) is generated by the computer and merges with the physical real-world environment of the user. The camera of a computer or mobile device scans print media of any type or the printed surface of objects. This scan activates the virtual scene.
