Since 2005 POOLgroup’s clientele includes the Federal Ministery of Defence. A Meeting of the NATO Ministers of Defense at Berlin Hotel InterConti, organized by the former Federal Government, was the beginning of a collaboration at that time. Since that time the Ministery of Defence always uses POOLgroup’s service to organize and realize conferences and similar events.

This was the case in May 2010, too, when Federal Minister of Defense zu Guttenberg once again invited to an Afghanistan Conference at the InterConti in Berlin. This time, however, he did not invite his NATO colleagues, but the nations whose armed forces belong to RC North, the Regional Command in North Afghanistan under German Command.

Basis for this technical concept were layouts elaborated and archived by POOL in 2005. These plans, however, could not only be copied one-to-one due to several differences. Combined with the comprehensive know-how of POOLgroup experts they formed a solid basis which contributed to a much quicker and even more efficient final planning than otherwise usual for conferences of these dimensions.
A steel framework, specifically developed by POOL for the ceiling of the great Hall at the InterConti at that time, was used for the installation of a particular conference lighting. Even with reference to decorations the Federal Ministery could rely on POOL’s concrete knowledge of 2005. An innovation was the conference table Magellan, one of several table systems of POOL’s stock, which could be adapted to various forms and sizes in accordance with the conference requirements due to its modular design. Furthermore, the different POOLgroup units were responsible for the complete audio and video technique.

The result of this complete solution was a technically successful conference and an extremely satisfied Minister of Defense. What more do you want?
